Equatorial Guinea Fired the Head of the Audit Commission “Baltasar Engonga” after he was arrested for having sex with 400 women

Equatorial Guinea sacked Baltasar Ebang Engonga, Director General of the National Financial Investigation Agency (ANIF), after a scandal that caught the attention of the world over some bad videos that came out.

Engonga was removed from his position after more than 400 videos appeared on the internet, which show that he was involved with some high-ranking women, including the wives of high-ranking officials in the country.

The videos alleged that Engonga was having an affair with his brother’s wife, the wife of the vice president, the wife of the inspector general of police and many others.

The government announced Engonga’s dismissal in a statement issued by Law No. 118/2024, dated November 4, citing “allegations of misconduct in office” and the situation seeing “it is not suitable for a government office.”

“According to Real Equatorial Guinea, the dismissal of Mr. Engonga, the son of Baltasar Engonga Edjo (president of the Central African Economic and Economic Community, CEMAC), was stipulated in the law number 118/2024, dated November 4 .

“The case shows Mr. Engonga’s lack of ethics in office and his family and social behavior
a position that is not suitable for public office.”
