The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has unveiled an ambitious Youth Internship Scheme aimed at equipping 10,000 youths across the Niger Delta with essential skills for employment and entrepreneurship. Announced in Port Harcourt, this initiative aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The scheme targets young individuals up to 45 years old, offering a 12-month internship with a monthly stipend of N50,000. Interns will gain experience in various fields such as technology, arts, agriculture, and marine industries.

The selection process is merit-based, ensuring a fair opportunity for all applicants. The scheme will initially allocate 500 slots to each of the nine NDDC states, with additional slots distributed based on oil production quotas.
